1% Growth Everyday

“If you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done”.

– James Clear

“Habits don’t change in a day. But 1% a day makes every habit work.”

-James Altucher

1% every day refers to continuous development daily. Continuous everyday development is a commitment that one makes to ensure small improvements and changes in daily life. The gains or modifications will contribute to something significant in the long run. The best approach to provide one percent progress on each day is setting achievable goals and making small to large leaps so that you can achieve the goals in the shortest time possible. Setting goals and adhering to them is easier said than done because failing to meet them, you can find yourself in frustration, and burnout. Therefore, it is essential to focus on adjusting to every typical behavior and habit slightly and slowly.

How 1% growth in everyday works: –

In most cases, humans convince themselves that change is only evident when there are tremendous outcomes. Regardless of the kind of changes we want, be it weight loss, business building, or any other goal, we often put too much pressure to realize great outcomes that are not possible. Expecting too much change only makes you place too much pressure on yourself than you need, which will hurt you. Meanwhile, improving by one percent is almost unnoticeable, but it is worth it. Big things always have small or humble beginnings; a journey of several miles starts with a single step, so respect small changes because they are the ones that lead to tremendous changes.

The power of small improvements: –

At the start, there is no difference between making a choice that is one percent worse or better. This means that one percent might not have any significant impact, but the results will be visible once the changes become continuous, leading to colossal outcome realization. As time progresses, these smaller improvements compound, leading to more remarkable outcomes.

The punchline: –

If you experience one percent growth on each day of the year on any goal you have, by the end of the year, you will be far better than where you start from. This explains why small improvements are unnoticeable but add up to something significant and noticeable.

1 % growth tools: –

1. Do more of what already works

People often waste ideas and resources at their disposal because they don’t seem new or exciting. Several ideas within your reach can bring progress to your life. Some of these opportunities include never missing your workouts daily. Success hides behind tedious or challenging situations. You don’t have to kill yourself, just build a better strategy and do more of what seems to work.

2. Avoid small losses

Success is not about doing the right thing but avoiding making small mistakes that seem without impacts. In education, ensure you make a few errors by preventing stupid mistakes. If you are an investor, limit your risks. The best way to make tremendous improvements is to limit small losses.

3. Weigh your progress backward

Measure your progress backward instead of measuring it forward. Trying to predict future success by setting future unrealistic goals seems unachievable.

4. Stop focusing on the result

It is always important to pay attention to the process than focusing on the result.

Conclusion: –

If you want to succeed, you should be patient and always look backward while measuring your progress. Don’t expect too much change; that little improvement you achieve daily is enough for a tremendous long-term change. Set your goals and be contented with the 1% growth you achieve.
